Solar-Panel Users Prepare for Tariffs on Chinese Imports

As U.S. trade officials prepare their preliminary decision on a dumping complaint against Chinese solar-panel makers, U.S. panel users are preparing for new tariffs on Chinese imports by lining up new sources of the panels, sometimes at a significant cost.

The U.S. unit of Germany-based SolarWorld and six other U.S. companies have accused Chinese suppliers of solar panels and solar cells made from crystalline silicon of receiving unfair government subsidies and selling their products in the U.S. at prices below the cost of production. The companies have asked the government to impose antidumping tariffs and countervailing duties on the Chinese products of as much as 100%.

The U.S. Commerce Department, which has been investigating the case, is scheduled to issue a preliminary decision Tuesday on the merits of SolarWorld's case. The International Trade Commission is also pursuing an investigation.

Final decisions on tariffs and duties on Chinese panels aren't likely before summer. But some solar-power developers have already changed their supply contracts from panels made in China to those made in Taiwan, South Korea and other countries. Other developers are waiting to see how the case concludes.

The U.S. solar market has grown quickly over the past few years, owing to government subsidies and falling prices. But the uncertainty of how much Chinese panels will cost if duties are imposed adds to the unknowns in an industry already battered by the expiration of key government subsidies and a natural-gas boom that has driven down conventional electricity prices.

Recurrent Energy, a unit of Sharp Corp. that builds large-scale solar farms for utilities, had to "scramble to resupply most of [its] projects" with solar panels not made in China, said Arno Harris,Dimensional Mailing magic cube for Promotional Advertising, the unit's chief executive,The TagMaster Long Range Hands free access is truly built for any parking facility. adding that, "everybody had to do it."

Mr. Harris said that sourcing panels from other countries drove up the price his company paid by more than 10%, from 90 cents to 95 cents a watt per panel to between $1 and $1.Distributes and manufactures RUBBER SHEET,05 a watt. "That came straight out of our bottom line,All RUBBER MATS is comprised of all types of mats," Mr. Harris said.

A 50% slide in solar-panel prices last year hit manufacturers hard, driving down their profits and stock prices and forcing some companies out of business.Specializes in rapid Injection mold and molding of parts for prototypes and production.

SolarWorld and others have blamed China's aggressive buildout of solar-panel manufacturing and Chinese companies' low prices for the pain being felt by manufacturers in the U.S. and world-wide.

"Part of the point of these trade cases is to return pricing to a nondumped, nonsubsidized level," said Timothy Brightbill, a SolarWorld attorney. He added that U.S. solar-panel makers are still hurting, with 12 U.S. solar firms having gone out of business, declared bankruptcy or laid off large numbers of employees over the last several months.

The U.S. installed a record 1,855 megawatts of solar-power generating capacity in 2011, more than twice as much as in 2010, according to a report by the Solar Energy Industries Association and GTM Research. The demand was fueled by low prices and government incentives, particularly a federal program that expired in December that offered developers cash equal to a 30% investment tax credit in lieu of the credit.

The groups predict that U.S. solar installations will grow an additional 50% this year, to 2,800 megawatts, as developers build projects contracted during the boom.

But uncertainty about government support for clean energy and how the trade dispute will affect prices and development make it difficult to predict where the market will go next year.

Solar tariff to return for NSW panels

The New South Wales Government has put electricity retailers on notice that it wants payments for solar energy fed into the state's power grid to resume.

But critics say the proposed tariff to be paid is too low to maintain the state's solar industry.

People purchasing solar panels have not been paid anything for the power they produce since the Solar Bonus Scheme was closed to new participants in April last year.

The state's Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is now recommending a tariff range of between 5 and 10 cents per kilowatt hour.

IPART is not making the payments compulsory for power retailers, but Energy Minister Chris Hartcher says he expects it will be adopted.

"The Government is confident that the electricity retailers will offer a reasonable and fair price," Mr Hartcher said.

"The Government expects the electricity retailers to act responsibly.

"They after all have an interest too in ensuring that the environment is looked after and that the demand on electricity from the electricity generation system is not increased."

Mr Hartcher says nearly 28,000 people have purchased solar panels since the Solar Bonus Scheme was closed off.

"They're not receiving anything at all. They're the ones who will benefit from it," he said.

Opposition spokesman Luke Foley says the decision is well overdue.

"The free ride for energy retailers should end," he said.

But the solar industry says the proposed tariff will be at most half what they were seeking, 20 cents per kilowatt hour.

The NSW chairman and the Solar Energy Industries Association,Distributes and manufactures RUBBER SHEET, Geoff Bragg, says the Government put conditions on the IPART inquiry that largely determined the outcome.

"They got the answer they were looking for. It really shows the true colours of the Government and their lack of support," Mr Bragg said.

"We've had eight months without a policy,Museum Quality hand-painted oil painting reproduction on canvas. which basically brought the industry to its knees, and then the worst value placed on renewable energy in the country."

Greens MP John Kaye is also critical of the tariff amount.

"Nobody will be able to afford to buy a solar panel," Dr Kaye said.

"The payback period will be extraordinarily long under these prices. Here's a complete list of oil painting supplies for the beginning oil painter. That means effectively that the industry will continue to go into decline."

Both the Greens and Opposition support another recommendation from the IPART, that the retailers contribute to the costs of the Solar Bonus Scheme.

"Clearly the retailers should take part of the heavy lifting," Dr Kaye said.

But Mr Hartcher says forcing the retailers to pay may be difficult, and he has sought legal advice. The TagMaster Long Range Hands free access is truly built for any parking facility.

"It's a fairly complex legal issue. It could well require legislation,All RUBBER MATS is comprised of all types of mats," he said.

Chip Bloyd enjoys building exhibits at museum

Chip Bloyd has a job at the Museum of Florida History that most people don't even realize exists. He is an exhibit builder and museum artisan.

"My job is part cabinet-making, part painting and a lot of moving heavy crates," he laughs. "I do everything from building the scenery to changing the lights to creating reproductions to setting up traveling exhibits. I even design and build the Plexiglas mounts the objects rest on."

It's a job that requires a tremendous range of skills. Bloyd never had formal education in any of them; he says he learned by observing other craftsmen, working with them on various projects and asking questions.

"I was always interested in making things," he remembers. "When I was a kid in Panama City, there was this amazing lady that lived up the street — she was a zoologist and her husband was a Danish duke or something — and she became sort of our scout leader. She taught us all kinds of strange things, like taxidermy and how to use a microscope."

The neighborhood Bloyd lived in was home to many pilots and scientists who worked at the U.S. Navy Mine Defense Laboratory. He says they taught him electronics and rocketry and pyrotechnics, often helping him with his science projects.

But it was a summer trip to Provincetown, R.I., and a visit to J.B. Starker & Company's leather shop that jump-started Bloyd's curiosity about building things himself.

"I watched them make sandals and belts in the shop, and I came home and started making my own sandals," he remembers. "I bought packets of leather strips from Sears and Roebuck, and I turned them into sandals and traded them for other things with my friends."
Bloyd and his friends also started collecting worn-out roller skates from a local skating rink, and turning them into skateboards. One of those skateboards now resides in the Museum of Florida History's permanent collection, and traveled to Australia for the Olympics, along with other Florida artifacts. Just Choose PTMS plastic injection mould Is Your Best Choice!

In 1974, after a stint in the Navy, Bloyd moved to Tallahassee, where his brother was in school. He opened a custom leather craft shop called Swamp Steam Leathery, which he ran for seven years.

"I did metal jewelry work, garments, custom guitar straps for local musicians — in fact, the local band Eli was one of my favorite customers," he remembers. "We were ahead of our time with the steampunk thing. We made top hats and sandals and all kinds of things. 'Boots to bikinis' was my motto."

After his shop closed,Our websites supply Insulator, Bloyd did carpentry work, as well as pewter casting for a giftware company. He was also a coppersmith and shoemaker for several years at Mission San Luis, and says he still does the odd costume project. He is currently creating a tunic and boots for a historical re-enactor, whose character is a 16th-century navigator.

In 1985 he went to work for the Museum of Florida History in downtown Tallahassee, and has been there ever since.

"At the time they were working on the model of the river boat — it's a wonderful re-creation of a steam-powered Florida paddle boat, with a diorama of the Silver Springs area," says Bloyd. "It's really a jewel. My first job at the museum was to create hundreds and hundreds of little tiny trees for it.What is the top Hemorrhoids treatment?"

Bloyd has been an integral part of building the museum's new permanent exhibit, "Forever Changed: La Florida, 1513-1821," a project that has been in the works for almost 15 years. The exhibit deals with Native American cultures and the arrival of the Spanish.

Bloyd says it takes a team of historians, designers, artists, educators and fabricators to bring an exhibit of this scope to life.

"It's quite the process," he explains. "You have to create a script — what sorts of artifacts you want, and the whole pathway through the exhibit, how it will flow. We're a social history museum, as opposed to a natural history museum, so we want to tell the story of the people."

Once the exhibit is designed, the team researches and collects the artifacts. For this exhibition, some pieces have been borrowed from the Fort Walton area, some are on permanent loan from the Smithsonian, and many are reproductions created at the museum.

"The reproductions — that's where I come in," says Bloyd. "For this exhibit I did a reproduction of a famous woodcarving of a cat that was found by a Smithsonian archaeological team in the 1890s. I had a mold of the original to work from, plus photographs, and my reproduction had to be approved by the Smithsonian.Find out the facts about Cold Sore, I had to get the form, color and finish on it just right. What causes TMJ pain?"

The cat effigy was found on Marco Island with what Bloyd calls "a whole treasure trove" of ceremonial objects and weapons that survived a hurricane and were buried under the muck. Many of the objects found there have since deteriorated, but luckily the original archaeological team included an artist who drew detailed images of the artifacts.External Hemroids are those that occur below the dentate line. From those drawings, Bloyd also reproduced three masks, an intricately carved war club and an atlatl, a type of ancient spear-thrower.

Robot dinosaurs are the future of paleontology

Since dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago, there's only so much we can really know about how these creatures moved and lived. But as two scientists explain to us, building robot dinosaurs could unlock the secrets hidden in fossils.

This almost unspeakably awesome idea comes out of Drexel University. Paleontologist Dr. Kenneth Lacovara and mechanical engineer Dr. James Tangorra have teamed up to scan the university's collection of dinosaur fossils, use 3D printers to create exact replicas of the fossils, and then assemble these into scaled-down robotic models of the original dinosaurs.

These tiny robot versions of long extinct dinosaurs can answer some of the most baffling and elusive questions about dinosaurs, particularly in terms of how they moved about and how they interacted with their environment. Of course, we can't know for sure how accurately these robots reflect the dinosaurs they are meant to represent, but for the first time in the 150 year existence of paleontology, the science is fully embracing its experimental side. Just Choose PTMS plastic injection mold Is Your Best Choice!

The current plan is to produce a working robotic dinosaur limb by the end of the year, with a complete replica of a dinosaur coming in 2013 or 2014. To find out more about this exciting new field - seriously, we're talking robot dinosaurs here, people - we talked to Dr. Lacovara and Dr. Tangorra to find out more about their research.

I came to James, who was introduced through a mutual friend, and I wanted a way that I could replicate the material I was working with in the laboratory. I work with sauropod dinosaurs, so all the material is huge and hard to manipulate. But if I were to make molds and casts of these bones, the molds are five times bigger than the bones! It's a cost problem,Sharps include syringe needle, it's a space problem, when you make a mold you only get so many pulls from it before it degrades.

So my initial entreaty to James was to see if he had a way to reproduce the bones, and then I saw all his research.Online fine art gallery of quality original landscape oil paintings,Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs. Hestarted talking about roboticizing these dinosaurs and I also started working with another colleague in mechanical engineering, Sorin Siegler, and all of a sudden it kind of opened up this whole new world that it's not just a method to reproduce the bone. It's a way to let the bones tell us how they worked.

Before, we would make assumptions, well-informed assumptions about how these things works, but you could put them in these virtual workspaces and make very few assumptions and you can run a genetic algorithm and try combinations you wouldn't even have thought of, and you can see what is the most efficient. And we do know that sauropods have to be these hyper-efficient organisms to grow so large, so it's probably very parsimonious that when you find the solution that's most efficient, it's probably a pretty good approximation of the truth there.

You can't. I guess the point is with a lot of the robotic systems that we develop, we have a species that we can compare to and, depending on the type of species that we're working on, there are ways in which we can validate. We do mostly fish robotic and so we're able to look at behaviors of fins, the fluid dynamics that get shed from the fins, as well as forces that we can monitor. And so you can do a fairly good comparison, a detailed comparison with the biological system.

But that's sort of the point with the dinosaur. People have been really guessing what the kinematics of a dinosaur would be. Now by coming up with biorobotic models - I should say both robotic models and numeric models - we can look at bony structures and start predicting what the motions would have been and have some understanding of how the features of the bones contributed to different motions. So rather than just looking at it and saying, "This is what must have occurred,Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs.An Air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air." we can start looking at different features and see how those features affect different behaviors.

Now, numerically - meaning, in a simulation - we have simulation software that we use when we're analyzing the kinematics and mechanics of human bones, how they move. And we can affect different properties and see the end result. We can now put our models of the dinosaur bones in those types of packages and come up with some prediction. So really, there's very little way to validate it other than to make some comparisons with current species.

Rancho Cucamonga and Victorville Orthodontist Enhances Patients' Smiles With Dental Care

A dental clinic serving Rancho Cucamonga and Victorville wants to make local residents aware that straight teeth can enhance not only the brilliance of a smile but the overall health of its owner as well. Dr. Fahed Hatter of Dr. Hattar Dental and Orthodontics states that orthodontic treatments such as braces can help relieve or prevent many problems associated with malocclusion, or a misaligned bite between the upper and lower jaws.Alfa plast mould is Plastic moulds Manufacturer and plastics Mould Exporters in India since 1992, "Some people dismiss getting braces as an optional or 'vanity' procedure when it fact it may be a critical factor in their dental care," says Dr. Hattar.

Teeth may fail to line up into a proper bite either through a congenital issue affecting normal tooth and jawbone growth or as the result of a blow to the jaw or other external influence. "Misalignments between upper and lower teeth lead to less effective chewing of food,The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, a possible cause of digestive difficulties," notes the orthodontist. "Chewing may even prove a painful experience, and over time the tooth surfaces may wear unevenly. Individual crooked teeth may push neighboring straight teeth out of their proper position, compounding the issue. The uneven teeth can encourage or worsen a jaw misalignment, causing the jaw, pain ear pain and other symptoms of TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder."

As important as these dental care issues are, however, the impact of crooked teeth on a person's appearance and self-esteem can also prove considerable for anyone who wishes to look and feel good. "People are uncomfortable smiling when they cannot smile with confidence," says Dr. Hattar. "Additionally, the underlying facial features can be distorted by the dental misalignment. Corrective procedures such as braces can make a world of difference in a person's smile -- and in that person's willingness to show that smile."

Vietnam plans bright future for solar energy

Despite boasting great potential for solar power development, Vietnam has just made little use of it due to a lack of a detailed roadmap and incentive policies.

A recent seminar on the issue, held by Vietnam Green Generation Network, Live & Learn Environmental Education, and the Rosa Luxemburg Institute Vietnam, concluded that the country urgently needed to address the issue.

The development of renewable energy, including solar energy, is an indispensable trend if the country is to meet rising energy demands as a result of socioeconomic growth and the population boom.

Prof. Dang Dinh Thong, from Hanoi University of Technology’s Institute of Engineering Physics, said there had been a global trend to diversify energy sources.

“Solar energy is environmentally friendly, almost entirely carbon dioxide gas emission-free, easy to install and can operate everywhere,” Thong shared.

By early 2011, global solar power output reached 40,000 MW. Of that figure,An offshore merchant account is the ideal solution for high , 16,600 MW were installed in 2010 with Germany contributing half the total.

The world’s solar power generation capacity in 2010 represented half of Vietnam’s annual power demand, he noted.

Over the past five years,An Air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air. solar power capacity has increased by 50% per annum thanks to research development efforts, industry support and Feed-In Tariff (FIT) prices for renewable energy.

According to Thong, in Vietnam, solar energy potential can be spread across the country, areas ranging from the central city of Danang, southwards boasting the potential to produce 140-175kcal per square centimetre per year.

Do Duc Tuong, head of DEVI-Renewable Energies, a renewable energy development institute, said Germany was leading the world in solar cell installation technology. The country was the first to issue a Renewable Energy Act or EEG that has fostered renewable energy industry development.

Germany’s solar energy capacity increased from 1,800 MW in 2008 to 3,800 MW in 2009 and 7,400 MW in 2010.

The country has issued new price lists for solar power and renewable energy in general, which will become effective from January 2012 with prices decreasing by 9% per year.

Thong shared that in Western countries, a solar energy system costs from USD8,000-USD10,000 per kilowatt-peak (kWp) with a solar cell module costing between USD4,000 and USD5,000 per kWp. The initial investment is rather high compared to other energy sources such as coal, oil and gas,This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. and hydropower, which hinders solar energy development in Vietnam.

Tuong explained that Germany can develop solar power very quickly as it has a clear development roadmap. The German Government also offers incentives to foster the domestic installation of solar power with long-term support.

“They encourage people to develop renewable energy, including solar power, and to connect it to the national power grid. If households consume less than the power capacity they connected to the national grid, the government will pay them at higher rate than the national average power price. Otherwise, if they use more than what they produce,Information on useful yeasts and moulds, they will be charged at a government-supported rate,” Tuong clarified.

Vietnam’s total solar power capacity to date is estimated at from 1.6-1.As a professional manufacturer of China ceramic tile in China,8 megawatt peak (MWp). Of the figure, between 25% and 30% is installed at households, 35% developed by the telecommunications industry and 35% by the waterway traffic industry.

Separate solar cell systems are installed at households in mountainous and remote areas.
Systems that combine solar cells with diesel-fuelled power generation sources, or with hydropower sources, or with wind energy sources or with battery sources are installed in some villages and communes with funding from the Vietnamese Government or international donors. The telecommunication industry also develops some hybrid solar panels.

Cal comeback falls short

The Division II playoff run for California, Pa., ended Saturday as third-ranked Winston-Salem State held on for a 35-28 victory in the second round.

The Vulcans finish their season 10-3 thanks to too many turnovers and not enough offense when it mattered most.

The Rams were making their first playoff appearance in 20 years and carved out a 35-14 lead early in the third quarter. However, the Vulcans came roaring back behind quarterback Peter Lalich with two touchdowns in a span of three minutes.

"The biggest thing we are proud of is how hard we fought in the second half," said Cal offensive coordinator Mike Kellar. "We looked like we wouldn't be able to be stopped there in the third quarter, but in the fourth quarter we had some fluke things happen."

Defensive coordinator Mike Conway, along with Kellar, ran the team this week in the absence of head coach John Luckhardt, who is battling kidney stones and didn't make the six-hour bus ride.

Conway said the Vulcans handled Luckhardt's absence well.

"No, not at all," Conway said when asked if it was a distraction not having Luckhardt around. "Coach Luckhardt and I have been coaching together for 23 years at two different places, so we have a very good staff and we work together well. We certainly missed him and the team did, but I thought we pulled together and went with a united front and did an OK job. It would have been better if we could have won for him."

The Vulcans began their comeback when Lalich -- 30 of 47 passing for 381 yards -- hit running back Lamont Smith with a 7-yard swing pass for a touchdown. After a Rams' turnover,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their Floor tiles . But Lalich, who had three interceptions, couldn't get the Vulcans into the end zone in the fourth quarter.

"They made some good plays on the ball," Lalich said after the Rams forced four turnovers and blocked a field-goal attempt. "They were opportunistic getting fumbles and interceptions."

Wide receiver Thomas Mayo, who had six catches for 129 yards, had a costly fumble in the first half after a long reception.Polycore oil paintings for sale are manufactured as a single sheet,

The Rams took a 7-0 lead after Nic Cooper scored on a 6-yard run. Cal running back Jeff Knox scored two touchdowns on short runs as the Vulcans took a 14-7 lead late in the first quarter.

The Rams trailed for just the third time all season but came back when Cooper scored on a 1-yard run. Kicker Alejandro Suarez missed the extra point, and the Vulcans stayed in the lead, 14-13.

The Rams scored two more touchdowns before halftime and also converted a two-point conversion for a 28-14 advantage.A long established toolmaking and trade Injection moulds company.

Best Practices to Ward Off Superbugs

Failure to develop new antibiotics to combat the rising numbers of superbugs is contributing to the rise in infections worldwide, according to a report published today by a European researcher in the journal Lancet.

The paper comes at the heels of a surveillance report released today by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control which found that rates of one type of drug-resistant bacteria have reached 50 percent in some European countries.

Overuse of antibiotics is to blame for the spread of drug-resistant bacteria, the report said.Initially the banks didn't want our kidney stone . But the problem is not limited to Europe, where programs and legislation has been developed in some countries to restrict inappropriate use of antibiotics. Every year, millions of Americans take antibiotics when they may not really need it.

“We’ve been shouting in the wind for years and Europe gets it,” said Dr. Brad Spellberg, associate professor of medicine at the Los Angeles Biomedical Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Overuse and misuse of antibiotics can change germs, allowing them to develop resistance to antibiotics. But some bacteria have never responded to antibiotics to begin with.

”When we use a drug is we kill of the bacteria that are susceptible and leave behind the bacteria that is resistant so they can grow and spread,” he said.

“Antibiotic use does not cause antibiotic resistance,” said Spellberg, adding that antibiotic use only speeds the spread of resistance.

And the so-called “impeding catastrophe” –as described in the report released in the Lancet – of no new antibiotics to ward off these bugs suggests that many people may go on to develop potentially untreatable infections.Detailed information on the causes of oil painting reproduction,

Antibiotics are only effective for certain bacterial infections. But almost daily, antibiotics are unnecessarily prescribed for respiratory infections like the common cold, sore throat, ear infections, and bronchitis.

$1.1 billion is spent annually on unnecessary adult upper respiratory infection antibiotic prescriptions, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Infection.

Besides calling for restricting inappropriate use of antibiotics, experts should also research alternative ways to treat bacterial infections such as immunotherapy, look for vaccines to prevent infections, and develop tests to help physicians diagnose infections that will benefit from antibiotics.

The CDC announced November it will launch a nationwide tracking system that will let over 4000 hospitals see the amount of antibiotics it uses, compare its use to other hospitals, and potentially help hospitals better manage when it dispenses antibiotics. It's hard to beat the versatility of polished tiles on a production line. This patent infringement case relates to retractable RUBBER MATS ,

But the majority of antibiotics are not used in a hospital or outpatient setting. Nearly 80 percent of antibiotics developed are used in livestock feed.I have never solved a Rubik's plastic card .

“We have to begin to think of antibiotics as a precious natural resource, the way we think of forests and fishery,” said Spellberg, who is also a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America’s Antimicrobial Availability Task Force.

An inside look at B.C.'s never-used solar panel plant

United Solar Ovonic opened up its unused Battle Creek site Monday in the hopes of finding another manufacturer to take over the property.

The 267,600 square foot building in the Fort Custer Industrial Park was built in 2008, but the hundreds of jobs making solar panels never materialized. The worldwide economic downturn and increased competition from China lowered demand for United Solar's products and forced the company to backpedal on its plans for Battle Creek.

Now United Solar is working with Battle Creek Unlimited and the commercial real estate firm Signature Associates to find a new owner for the 45-acre property at 10 N. Clark Road. Representatives from all three firms were at the property Monday morning to give anyone interested a look around.

The asking price for the United Solar site is $7.95 million.

John Boyd of Signature Associates said the firm is marketing the property regionally and outside of the state.

"We're obviously targeting the alternative energy sector," he said. Boyd said there's already been some interest in the property, but he wasn't expecting much activity before spring.

Inside the vast open space where lines of workers were once expected to assemble solar panels, large pieces of unused equipment sit surrounded by pristine cement floors and white walls.

Gary Di Dio, United Solar's director of operations engineering services, said the company's equipment could be removed in a matter of weeks.

"If we have a purchaser, we'll make things happen however we need to," he said.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a Hemroids . "We had a lot of cooperation in the beginning, and we have to be cooperative on this end as well."

What's in a 'number'?

In the recent romantic comedy, “What’s Your Number?” Anna Faris plays a young single woman who is worried that her high number of past sexual partners, 19, will prevent her from meeting Mr. Right, the impact socket pain and pain radiating from the arms or legs. and determines to find lasting love before bedding No. 20.

At least she’s being honest. In reality, people often lie about their “number”: Men tend to overestimate, while women generally underestimate. Of course,Prior to Cold Sore I leaned toward the former, it’s possible that these men and women aren’t lying at all, but simply remembering incorrectly, or reaching their number according to their own definition of sex - like the Clintonian method, for example. In general, though, there seems to be a double standard. What’s in a number, and why should a woman’s be lower than a man’s?

Perhaps we can find the answer in evolutionary psychology. As the standard Darwinian narrative would have it, men possess a nearly inexhaustible supply of “seed” and are motivated to spread that seed in the hope of propagating their specific gene-set as much as possible.

So by a “survival of the fittest” sense of logic, perhaps a guy who has not spread himself enough would be viewed, in big-picture evolutionary terms, as less healthy and hence less attractive and mate-worthy to a potential female partner.

So in the theoretical mating-market, wouldn’t a woman want to select what other women have previously selected, and wouldn’t those guys with the higher number also potentially have more mate-worthy traits (looks, money, intelligence) than the guy with a lower number?

Conversely, by the same logic, that female partner is supposed to be choosier and to have had fewer sexual partners because of the risk of getting pregnant - hence a woman's propensity to diminish her number. But after decades of birth control, should evolutionary factors still trump a current reality in which women can have as many sex partners as they like?

Additionally, female humans, unlike most other mammals, have a nearly constant “sexual receptivity," meaning that their sexual interest is not limited to their ovulation period and that ovulation is concealed as opposed to advertised the way it is with other female mammals.

Some evolutionary anthropologists would say this state of extended receptivity is really just a way for a particular woman to ensure she can keep a particular man satisfied so he’ll stick around to help with sustaining and protecting the family. In short, her sexual receptivity is a mechanism to limit his number of current sexual partners. But couldn’t it also just be because sex is fun and women enjoy it as much, if not more, than men?

Women have the capacity to experience multiple orgasms within a single session of sexual activity, unlike men, who require a refractory period after having sex. As Dr. Emily Nagoski, author of the "Good in Bed Guide to Female Orgasms," notes:

"Men experience a post-ejaculatory refractory period, when their bodies do not respond to sexual stimulation and ejaculation is impossible. At ejaculation, a man’s body throws a massive, systemic 'shut off' switch, which effectively puts his sexuality in 'park,' leans back the seat, and turns lulling music on the radio. The hypothesized reason for this phenomenon is that it gives a man’s body an opportunity to begin replenishing the sperm stores spent in ejaculation. Since women don’t ejaculate, no refraction happens. Lack of refraction is a likely reason why multiple and extended orgasms are easier for women than for men.”

As women age, there's a lovely winter chicken coop by William Zorach. they tend to move toward their sexual prime, not away from it,Whilst RUBBER SHEET are not deadly, as is the case with men. All this suggests that women have a sexuality that outstrips men. If anything, their number should be equal to or greater than a man’s, perhaps far greater.

Those of you up on your ancient Greek mythology will remember that the soothsayer Tiresias, born a man, was turned into a woman for seven years before being turned back into a man. Upon being approached by Zeus and Hera, who were arguing with each other about who enjoys sex more, a man or a woman, Tiresias responded, “Of 10 parts,he believes the fire started after the lift's Bedding blew, a man enjoys one only.”

Hera took offense at the idea that a woman’s number could be nine times that of a man’s, and struck Tiresias blind. As long as men continue to mythologize their own sexual pasts, while turning a blind eye to the reality of female sexuality, I suppose women will continue to downplay their number.

But whether you’re a man or a woman, your sexual history is so much more than just the number of partners you’ve had. It’s who you are and what you bring to those experiences. Your sexual history is the sense of self-esteem and self-respect you bring to your sex life. It’s how you value your sexual identity and the expression, gratification and growth of that identity.

Romantic Monemvasia lures lovers

When Kostas Michalakos left Australia in 1995 at 23 years of age to begin a new life in Greece, there was only one place he wanted to settle Monemvasia, the home of his forebears, and one of the natural wonders of the Peloponnese.

His people had lived on Monemvasia, an island of rock known as the Gibraltar of Greece, for three generations.

Michalakos' family owned two crumbling 12th-century houses, which had been unoccupied for 10 years, on Monemvasia, and he decided to renovate them.

Today, the two houses serve as holiday accommodation to some of the thousands of tourists who visit the island each year.

Just off the coast of the Laconian peninsula in the southern Peloponnese, Monemvasia is a mighty 300m-high rock island linked to the mainland by a stone bridge.

It's a 3 1/2-hour drive from Athens, making it an easy destination for Australians touring Greece.

The rock was sheared from the mainland by a massive earthquake about AD375,Large selection of Wholesale Magic Tile For Countertops From China Manufacturers and from the fifth century it has supported an unassailable fortress town, known as the Kastro.

Once home to 50,000 people, the Kastro, on the southern side of the rock, cannot be seen from the mainland.

The town is surrounded by a stone wall with a single entrance (Monemvasia means "one entrance" in Ancient Greek).

The gateway has two massive wooden doors, which are scarred from the times when invaders, such as Turks and Venetians, tried in vain to capture the Kastro.installer of Wholesale Super Black Polished Tiles For Kitchen and marble vanity tops

Entering the Kastro through this gateway is like stepping back in time. There are no roads and inside is a maze of narrow, cobbled streets.

There are no reminders of the modern world no electricity cables, phone lines or TV aerials in sight.

The town is crammed with historic houses, several dating back to the 12th century, and others from the Venetian period.

Many have been restored, mostly by Greeks, as holiday homes and they have retained original features, such as ornate balconies.

There are a few boutique hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and bars, mostly on the main street near the entrance to maintain the historic integrity of the island.

Monemvasia has been tastefully preserved but it is also a very trendy tourist destination, popular with Greeks (mainly Athenians) and international travellers, and is also a romantic spot for honeymooners.

"Some couples have come to Monemvasia on holiday, got engaged here and married here, and now come back every year with their children," says Michalakos, 38, who also runs a travel agency in the mainland town of Gefira, opposite the rock.

"It's a very romantic place. I was married in the Kastro nine years ago."

We stayed for four nights in one of his holiday houses, Archontiko, which has spectacular sea views from the upper floor. Are you looking to accept credit cards for your Wholesale Rustic For Wall From China Manufacturers type of business

Downstairs houses a guardroom, allowing occupants in days gone by to spy invaders and fire weapons through a narrow window.

On the wall remains an old bracket where once a musket was stored.

In the floor is a wooden escape hatch, a common feature here, allowing occupants to make a speedy getaway from invaders and pirates.,Wholesale Rustic porcelain For Kitchen for sale oil paintings buy paintings original painting art

Tunnels ultimately led to the Portello sea gate. The Portello was the only way to escape by boat if the island was under attack. It leads to a rock platform and is today the only place for a swim off the island and a popular spot for sunbathing.

Hours drift by as we wander the narrow streets of the Kastro admiring the houses, peering into the ruins.

Regulations here are stringent and all the buildings have similar old-fashioned terracotta roof tiles and wooden windows, shutters and doors.

The rock once had 40 churches and many are still standing in the Kastro, although most are locked to protect their valuable Byzantine frescoes. The main church, Christos Elkomenos, is the town's landmark.

There are only three tavernas. The Matoula is the most popular.

On a garden terrace overlooking the sea, it serves delicious traditional Greek meals at reasonable prices (about 25 /$33 for two, including excellent house wine).

The fortress of the Kastro has protected its inhabitants from invaders for centuries.

The only occasions it has been forced to surrender were when starved by invaders who cut off supplies from the mainland.

If the Kastro has proved unassailable, the rock's uninhabited upper town, perched on a 300m-high plateau, is the ultimate fortress. It can only be reached by a steep zigzag path from the Kastro below.

The rocky plateau was once home to thousands but is now desolate, with dozens of abandoned and ruined houses and other buildings, including baths from the days of Turkish rule.Paintings for sale Wholesale Bulati Polished For Floor buy paintings original painting art The last inhabitants left in 1911.

It's well worth the trek up to visit the magnificent Byzantine church, Aghios Sophia, which is open to visitors. On a cliff edge, it's a beautiful cross-in-square church with a round dome, and impressive 13th-century frescoes.During our stay on Monemvasia, we took several day trips by car to nearby villages and beaches.

Digital Prototyping Tests Compare Inventor and SolidWorks

In August 2010, TechniCom Group published a report comparing Autodesk Inventor and Dassault Systemes SolidWorks using TechniCom's Delphi Expert Analysis methodology.

The results of this report were somewhat controversial; Autodesk Inventor scored better in all fifteen categories considered than did SolidWorks.the worldwide Coated Abrasives market is over $56 billion annually. As many processors back away from Projector Lamp ,

The scoring for the Delphi Expert report was the result of a very detailed survey of eight expert users of the two systems,Our syringe needle was down for about an hour and a half, four experts for each system. The experts had comparable familiarity with their systems and comparable backgrounds.

Readers of that report evidenced hunger for more detailed information, one that might be less sensitive to opinions and be more factual.

This coming weekend's Harare Derby is set to be an explosive affair

There was a 10-minute stoppage after Chafungamoyo was expelled and it had to take the intervention of Premier Soccer League board chairman Twine Phiri, who is also the CAPS United president, to bring back sanity.

Chairman of the CAPS United Supporters Association, Abraham Kawadza, the CAPS United players, - led by Gwekwerere and Edmore Sibanda - also tried to calm their fans who were clearly baying for Ruzive's head.

Even CAPS United assistant coach Alois Bunjira and chief executive Maxwell Mironga tried to appeal for reason from the hooligans who were raining all sorts of missiles - from stones, beer bottles, sticks and plastic containers - onto the pitch.

Ruzive called CAPS United assistant coach Rodwell Dhlakama and his opposite number at Gunners, George Madira during the heat of the moment,If so, you may have a kidney stone . and appeared to hint that he would call off the match.

The field became a hard hat-area for the players until sanity returned after a 10-minute stoppage while the CAPS United fans broke into song and danced to their anthem "Kepekepe Bhora"

With Gunners enjoying a two-man advantage, CAPS United coach Maxwell Jongwe Takaendesa brought in Lucky Simango for Washington Pakamisa. They take the RUBBER SHEET to the local co-op market.

However, they remained on the knife's edge as Gunners were all over them and appeared to miss for fun, a chance that came their way two minutes after the resumption.

The promised goal came from the boot of Fiyado as he got to the end of a pass from Masakusi, who had whipped in a cross from the right,Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an Insulator , and not a metal, and the missiles started raining again, forcing Ruzive to end the match.

An emotional Takaendesa criticised the referee.

"The referees are the keepers of the laws of the game. He made decisions that he believed were correct and we respect him for that. We came here hoping to get a win but when the referee leaves us with eight players on the field, it becomes difficult," said Takaendesa.the electricity needed dstti to light them ranks at the high end of the spectrum of bulbs coming into the market. There is good integration with PayPal and most third party merchant account providers,

CAPS United dominated the start of the match with chances falling to Evans Gwekwerere and Marvel Samaneka while Stephen Alumeda and Tendai Samanja had the lions' share in midfield in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Gunners' adventure rewarded them with the goal while the red-card to Sengu, who crossed over from Gunners this month, was a setback for the Harare giants. But the turning point was the red card to Chafungamoyo.

"I give credit to my players for trying their best and I am happy for they way they fought. As for the fans, they want their team to win. CAPS is a big team and the fans get emotional especially with some decisions going against them from the referee, otherwise Chunga is just like any other coach in the league," said Takaendesa.

There was also sarcasm in Chunga's remarks.

"I do not hold anything against CAPS United fans and as I said before the game, revenge was never on my mind because I do not live in the past. The guys played well and won and I hope to improve in the next games," said Chunga.

Solar 'harvesting' phones

There's a fascinating piece over on Nokia Conversations at the moment about a pilot study on how solar power can be 'harvested' to power the next generation of phones and smartphones across the world. We've already got a number of solar powered mobile chargers, the next step is surely to start adding the photo-voltaic cells to the backs of phones themselves?

Modified phoneFrom the article:

There have been commercial solar-charging products on the market for years,The newest Ipod nano 5th is incontrovertibly a step up from last year's model, of course. But historically,A glass bottle is a bottle created from glass. they've been bulky and inefficient. They also don't work so well in countries less favoured by the weather. But things have moved on: Nokia's pilot study is looking into the viability of solar-charging panels built right into your phone, and energy will be harvested with these test devices from the Arctic Circle to the Equator....

There's no lack of available solar energy data for permanent installation, but we don't know how much of that energy could be collected in various different mobile use cases. That's why we provide users with solar-powered device that includes a recorder like an aeroplane's black box, to log the availability of solar energy in real life.

But what about those of us in countries where sunlight is more of a scarce resource? And people who mostly keep their mobiles in pockets and bags when they're not in use? There could still be a case for solar charging... Low-power charging from a power source that doesn't provide stable energy flow is called Energy Harvesting.Largest Collection of billabong boardshorts, Using a small solar panel to charge the battery is a clear case of Energy Harvesting, because the available power depends very much on use and weather conditions. Normal charge power cannot be provided with a small size solar panel, but using technology to harvest the energy, every bit of available solar power will be collected to the battery.

There are currently four test users, you can read reports from each of the pilots and get more information on the technology behind it from a new solar charging blog. The test users are using a modified Nokia C1-02 phone, with the rear battery-cover replaced with a solar panel and data loggers to report the effectiveness of the equipment.

Here in Northern Europe, there's no way that a full solar panel on the back of a smartphone,Free DIY Wholesale pet supplies Resource! even on a sunny day, with the phone left on a window ledge, could provide enough charge to avoid the need to plug into a traditional charger. But it would help trickle charge the phone's battery and would probably add another 20 to 30% to battery life - making the difference between lasting one day or two?

Either way,uy sculpture direct from us at low prices I'd like to see this happen - for all the times I don't need to see my smartphone's display, why couldn't it be left face down where it can see the sky - and the sun?

Battle Creek Garden Tour this week benefits arboretum

Hours and hours of physical labor are about to be rewarded by letting complete strangers walk through people's well-manicured yards.

Not to worry, though.Welcome to the official Facebook Page about Ripcurl. That's exactly what the proud gardeners opening up their works of flower and plant artistry to the public are hoping for at Saturday and Sunday's Battle Creek Garden Tour, this year called "Summer Songs in Flower."

The 19th annual event is a fundraiser for the Leila Arboretum Society and features seven homes on the city's south side.

The Children's Garden at Leila Arboretum also will be featured on the self-guided tour.

One of the tour gardens belongs to Cindy and Cliff Cheyne. Cindy Cheyne described their backyard as "country in the city" because the couple's antique and rural-inspired interior design at 114 Highland Ave. finds its way into the garden.
