Getting the Most from Your Router Tooling

Carbide grades continue to evolve as the producers of carbide strive to get a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Because there is such a wide variety of carbide manufacturers and products here are some basic facts to know about carbide and how it is composed.

A “cemented” metal, carbide has an aggregate and a binder component. The percentage of cobalt to tungsten and the average size of the tungsten particles is what separates carbide into different grades. Typical carbide will have about 95 percent tungsten particles and 5 percent cobalt binder. Carbides with higher percentages of cobalt binder exhibit properties of being “tougher” or “softer” and have higher transverse rupture strength. Conversely, those with lower percentages of cobalt binder have lower transverse rupture strength, are considered “harder” and more brittle, and are subject to breaking/cracking with high impacts.

For woodworking tools we want carbide that is both hard and tough so that it is resistant to abrasive wear and breakage, and the ultra-fine cutting edges do not chip off during normal use. The tool should also be made using the proper grinding technique and correct geometry.

Almost as important as the tool selection is making sure that it has the proper connection to the machine spindle. It is critical that the tool is located accurately, rotates through its cutting path with little to no runout and is clamped properly so there is no loss of power and no deflection from the clamping source.

The most common type of tool holder is the collet style tool holder. It consists of three main parts: the tool holder body, the collet and the collet nut.An Air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air. Within this system, that introduces as many as five (depending on spindle taper) separate mating surfaces. While this is an economical and convenient style of tool holding, be aware that there are others systems available that are more accurate and provide up to 100 times more clamping force than the collet style, including shrink fit and hydraulic style holders.

In some cases,All RUBBER MATS is comprised of all types of mats, the cutting tool and tool holder can be integrated into one unit, which solves most issues. If you do use collet style tool holders, there are basic steps to follow to get the best results possible and maintain safety.

Make sure that when you change the tool that you clamp the tool holder in a proper tool changing fixture. A torque wrench should be used when tightening the collet nut; over or under tightening is bad and can be dangerous to operators.

When installing the tool shank into the collet be sure at least 75 percent of the internal round portion of the collet’s I.D. is filled with full round tool shank. Resins released and superheated during the cutting process will migrate up the slots of the collet and can build up.

One of the more common collet sizes is the ER40, typically used for routing. Due to the overall size of the ER40 collet and the relatively small diameter of the 3/8-inch shank, we frequently see issues of slippage or breakage with increased demand. A solution is to either switch tool holders to a smaller collet size, such as an ER32 or SYOZ25,Museum Quality hand-painted oil painting reproduction on canvas. or to a different style holder altogether.

Improperly balanced tools will cause poor part finish, uneven tool wear, reduced tool life, noise and possible machine spindle failure and damage. The ISO standard for cutting tool balance is a G2.5. With today’s high speed spindles, that rating falls a bit short when getting to RPM ranges above 24,Distributes and manufactures RUBBER SHEET,000.

It is generally easiest to select an appropriate running RPM and then calculate the feed rate. Most boring tools will be run in the 3,000 to 6,000 RPM range and plunge rates of 1 to 4 meters per minute. Routing tools will generally be run from 8,000 to 24,000 RPM and feed rates up to 50 meters/min. While there is no steadfast rule for selecting the exact RPM, in general smaller diameter tooling will be run at higher RPM ranges and larger diameter tooling will be run at lower ranges.

Maximum surface feet,Online fine art gallery of quality original landscape oil paintings, which is a function of RPM and tool diameter, should never exceed 15,000 sfm. To calculate, take the tool diameter multiplied by pi, multiplied by RPM and divide by 12.

Win, lose or draw — let the games begin!

In the world of games and puzzles, the sky’s the limit! National Game and Puzzle Week, which falls on the Sunday through Saturday of Thanksgiving week, is a great time to turn off the cellphones, put those iPads aside, pull those buds out of your ears and gather ‘round the game table.

I was born into a game-playing family, and I am happy to be surrounded by a passel of kids and grandkids that enjoy the hilarity (and drama!) that goes with hauling out the latest versions of our favorite games. For me, game time is always an enlightening and enriching experience. You get to learn a lot about a person when those cards come out and the dice get to rolling. Mostly, it’s good stuff — as long as we’re careful to make sure those ultra-competitive family members wind up on the same team!

While the “game” part of National Game and Puzzle Week isn’t limited to board games, those are mostly the kind we gravitate toward around here. Board games have been played in most cultures and societies throughout history.

Not so different from a lot of today’s games, early games usually involved some kind of battle, always resulting in a winner and a loser. (It’s really hard to convince even the youngest game player to play for the “fun of it!”)

Most games are going to involve some combination of luck, strategy, diplomacy and skill. While a game like chess involves strategy and skill,

Candyland, as we all know, is pure luck of the spin. Luck is also going to be a factor in any dice game, though Trivial Pursuit allows a knowledgeable player to move ahead no matter the roll.

In a game like Monopoly, you’re always somewhat at the mercy of the roll of the dice, but eventually sound “business” decisions can make you a winner.

My youngest son wasn’t much into hotels or houses — he’d just secretly stash cash under a corner of the board (he called it his safety deposit box) and would pull it out when everybody else was property rich and cash poor. It was a strategy that served him well.

Personally, I’m not so hot at the strategy games. I don’t get Risk at all. This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their Floor tiles .

While I have an understanding of Stratego, I find it kind of boring. Unless, of course, my grandson Haydn is my opponent and the rules of the game change on a whim — his.

He routinely moves his flag,If so, you may have a cube puzzle . thinks the “bombs” should be thrown, and is convinced holding his “spy” in his hand gives him permission to come around the table and check out your men.

My favorites are charade, acting and drawing games like Guesstures, Cranium, and Pictionary. I like fast moving games like Mad Gab and Catchphrase. I love Trivial Pursuit, though I rarely win. No matter how hard I try, I can’t always land on “entertainment.”

Now Scrabble — I own it. It’s a rare day I can be beaten in Scrabble.A long established toolmaking and trade Injection moulds company. Of course, it’s a rare day I can get anyone interested in playing Scrabble!

As far as the “puzzle” part of the week goes, I know there are many, many kinds of puzzles out there. By definition, a puzzle is a toy, problem, or other contrivance designed to amuse by presenting difficulties requiring ingenuity and patient effort.

That would include anything from a Sudoku or Crossword to a Rubik’s Cube. But for me,which applies to the first offshore merchant account only, there is only one kind of puzzle — jigsaw.

I like to keep a big jigsaw puzzle out for anyone who wanders by and wants to sit a spell. As a family, we have shared some happy times and interesting conversations over a good thousand piece puzzle.

So, when my youngest son awoke one morning to excruciating back pain, I was quite convinced it was due to the hours he had spent hunched over our latest puzzle the day before. Turns out it was a kidney stone, which the doctor insisted wasn’t caused by hunching over a puzzle for hours on end. Who’s to say for sure?

Today’s games, though, for the gaggle of grandkids running about all high on candied yams and chocolate pie, will include: a treasure hunt complete with individualized pictures of items to be located (difficulty based on the age of the “hunter”); a new game that involves removing a partner’s socks quicker than he can remove yours; a semi-dangerous game where a blindfolded kid uses wooden spoons to “feel” and identify the mystery person in front of him; a “dance off” to holiday music; and my most inventive game to date,If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards, “Don’t Wake Grandma From Her Nap ‘til the Dishes Are Done.” I’ll give prizes.

The All-Out Hypocrisy of Arab League and the West

According to official figures released by the “Bahrain Center for Human Rights” website, so far 44 Bahraini citizens were killed at the hands of the mercenaries of Al Khalifa regime. The Bahraini martyrs include the 6-year-old Mohammed Farhan, 14-year-old Ali Jawad Alshaikh and 15-year-old Sayed Ahmad Saeed Shams. This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their Floor tiles . The Bahraini organization has reported that many of these martyrs were killed while in custody. The Center has also published documents indicating that more than 1,500 Bahrainis including about 100 women were incarcerated since the eruption of turmoil in the Persian Gulf country on February 14, 2011 and that more that 90 journalists face life threat.

It’s also said that the Bahraini government has blocked the citizens’ access to more than 1000 opposition websites which are mainly used to organize and plan protests and mass demonstrations.

The Bahraini regime commits all of these aggressive and brutal actions with the direct involvement of the Saudi Arabia and the implicit support and backing of NATO and the United States. The author of the “Hidden Harmonies China” blog in a March 14, 2011 post referred to the abuses of human rights in Bahrain with the flagrant, duplicitous support of the White House: “the Entry of Saudi security forces to crack down on the protesters with deadly force is a complication for U.S. policies, to say the least, since U.S. is reluctant to criticize its oil ally dictators in the region.”

He also called Bahrain the “Las Vegas” of the Middle East, host to the U.S. 5th Fleet and a haunt for the rich Saudis who are forbidden by Islamic laws at home from indulging in alcohol and other immoral enjoyments, “but who often vacation in Bahrain for these reasons.”

Bahraini citizens have uploaded several video files on the internet, showing the cruel and ruthless torturing and persecuting of the protesters by the Al Khalifa lackeys. These videos depict the Bahraini forces using tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters and killing many of them straight away. Some of these videos also show the Saudi and Bahraini cars nonchalantly running over Bahraini children and women, killing them at once.

The U.S.-Saudi project of crackdown on the Bahraini people was also empowered by many of the European cronies of Washington. In July 2011,A long established toolmaking and trade Injection moulds company. Germany sold a set of 200 62-ton Leopard tanks to Saudi Arabia which sparked a huge controversy among the German parliamentarians and anti-war activists. According to the Daily Telegraph, Wolfgang Gerhardt, former leader of the Free Democrats, the junior collation member to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats, said it was “unacceptable” the deal went through without the knowledge of his party’s MPs. However, the agreement which was worth around USD 1,252 million was concluded and the Saudi government dispatched many of these newly-bought tanks to Bahrain to accelerate and facilitate the bloody clampdown on the protesters. If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards,

The Yemeni dictator who has remained defiant in the face of frequent calls by the tribal leaders, which applies to the first offshore merchant account only, opposition groups and demonstrators to step down and give up power has turned his country into a bloodbath and made the Yemeni uprising the longest, most devastative revolution in the revolutionary wave of protests in the Middle East. The protests in Yemen started on February 3,If so, you may have a cube puzzle . 2011 and have continued so far. The only reaction of the international community to the brutality in Yemen was an indecisive and faltering resolution by the UNSC which called for “an end to violence” and asked President Ali Abdullah Saleh to accept a peace deal brokered by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council. However, Abdullah Saleh who is tacitly supported by the U.S., kept up with the brutalities and according to Yemen Times, 94 protesters were killed after the Security Council adopted the resolution 2014.

Physics, solar power fuel couple's green lifestyle

As Larry Weaver and Sheila Hale, a Creswell couple married 23 years, tool around town in their shiny, red, new car, its ultra-quiet operation and lack of a tail pipe draw attention and interest wherever they go.Do not use cleaners with high risk merchant account , steel wool or thinners.

And with gasoline prices pushing $4 per gallon, that curiosity is often more than casual.

The couple's new Nissan Leaf (or LEAF, for Leading, Environmentally-friendly, Affordable Family car), is an all-electric, five-door hatchback capable of traveling 100 miles on a single charge.

Although they have yet to reach that limit, Weaver and Hale regularly drive 50 to 60 miles during trips to Eugene and Cottage Grove.

"The electricity it takes to go 40 miles costs about 75 cents, and that's a pretty good comparison to going 40 miles in a gas-powered car," Weaver said.

Purchasing the Leaf fit Weaver's interest in all-electric vehicles; in fact Weaver, a retired molecular biology researcher, converted a small pickup to all-electric several years ago.

"It worked, but I'm trying some new things that are not standard, and they have not always worked as well as I would have liked," he said.

For charging, the Leaf plugs into a 110-volt or a 240-volt outlet; it can quick-charge in about 20 minutes or charge slowly over several hours.

On the downside, the vehicle's sticker price is comparable to "a midsize SUV," Hale said; and for longer trips to become feasible an infrastructure of recharging stations, much like gas stations, would be needed.

"There's talk and planning for recharging stations up and down I-5,Als lichtbron wordt een Hemorrhoids gebruikt, but that's yet to come," Weaver said. "But (the Leaf) serves very nicely for commuting."

But driving an all-electric car only scratches the surface of Weaver and Hale's commitment to sustainable living.

Retired four years from the University of Oregon, Weaver, who holds a Ph.D. in protein crystallography, now directs his physics expertise toward energy-related projects that enable and enhance the couple's low-carbon-footprint, green lifestyle.

With their three golden retrievers, the couple lives simply on 14 acres just east of Creswell.

They grow vegetables, raise chickens and shear wool from their sheep; and a solar array Weaver constructed from two older pieces, one German-made, one Chinese-made, supplies most household energy needs, including charging the Leaf.

"With the amount of electricity he makes with the solar panels, that kind of augments the electricity we use to charge the Leaf, so it's almost like it's free (to operate)," Hale said.

The 12-panel array, located in the sheep pasture, generates 2300 watts. On a bright, sunny day it yields about 16 hours of electricity, a yield that Weaver noted consistently bests the Emerald People's Utility District office's own solar array by 10 to 30 percent.

"And we're using old, established technology," Weaver said. "It's not as efficient as some of the new stuff being researched, but it's a lot cheaper."

A key to the array's impressive production is flexible orientation: where EPUD's array is fixed, Weaver's is built on posts: one set at a fixed angle, the other with tracking features.

That tracking system, Weaver acknowledges, "has had some problems;" but he's seeking solutions.

"I've been sort of building it in pieces to allow experimentation with different ways of putting it together and using it, and I'm still kind of playing with that," Weaver said. "Currently I'm playing with another option that might be as good an enhancement as the tracking feature, but simpler to use."

The couple also installed a solar water heater 10 years ago, taking advantage of EPUD interest-free loans and state tax credits, just as they did when they upgraded windows and insulation in the vintage two-story farmhouse they purchased in 1987.

The unit features a solar-heated tank, plus a backup heater. To test its efficiency,Whilst magic cube are not deadly, Weaver installed meters to determine how often that backup heater was utilized.

"That first year it turned on very, very rarely," he said. "With that information I figure the system paid for itself in about three years."

It has also proven durable, requiring just one service call, "for a simple pressure relief valve," Weaver said.

Reclaiming and repurposing items, many of them UO castoffs, is another passion the couple shares.

Aside from some family pieces, their house is furnished largely with old cabinets, bookcases, display cases, desks and other reclaimed pieces.

Outdoors, a cylindrical structure with a sliding door panel, once a darkroom entryway, now houses a composting toilet set outside an old prototype cedar yurt the couple purchased from a friend.

After replacing its original turf roof membrane with metal roofing and adding electricity, the yurt serves as an "overflow guest house," Hale said, when the couple's two daughters, sons-in-law and five grandsons visit.

A cabinet already equipped with a heater and fan that "started life as a cabinet left on the loading dock at the University," Weaver said, was converted into a large food dryer, which processes crops of apples, walnuts and hazelnuts from the farm's stately old trees.

"We have a squeeze (cider press) on Labor Day every year," Hale said, adding, "We've probably tried our hand at most everything."

Another project Weaver is tackling by hand is the eradication of long-established blackberries, what he terms "old-growth bramble," from additional property the couple owns on Creswell Butte.

"I decided not to use mechanical or chemical means, partly because as I remove them by hand I discover tree seedlings, snowberries and wild roses that I wouldn't want to kill," said Weaver, who has also planted thousands of trees by hand in reforesting the property.

"I claim to have made great progress, by decreasing the task from five lifetimes to only three," he added.

But as intractable as those blackberries, thorny in more ways than one, may prove, Weaver considers the chance to discover more fragile, native components of the ecosystem as he battles them reward enough for his efforts.

"I always get excited when I find something new, especially if it's sort of rare," he added. "This past summer I got really excited because I think I saw an endangered butterfly, the Fender's Blue Butterfly."

Although he awaits expert confirmation of that sighting, Weaver noted that the butterfly is "fairly distinctive" and is hopeful its presence on the Butte will be confirmed.

Weaver is also "hand"-y around the house: he rebuilt the upstairs level, crafted two hinged additions for Hale's old wooden dollhouse, and after Hale's knee-replacement surgery he even built an elevator, co-opting two small closets, one directly underneath the other, and installing a small DC motor that drives a winch to raise and lower a platform along barn door tracks.

"He's very, very, very clever, and he sort of has two modes: he's either thinking or he's asleep," Hale said.ceramic zentai suits for the medical,

With a brain and a barn filled with projects in various stages of conception, experimentation or completion, sleep is likely the lesser part of that ratio.

But as long as ideas are flowing and EPUD continues offering incentives, Weaver and Hale will keep exploring ways to reduce their energy consumption even further.

"We're very pleased with EPUD offerings for power conservation," Weaver said.

"I think it's really nice that there are these incentives built in to help make these changes affordable,Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an oil paintings for sale , and not a metal," Hale added.

ENERGY STAR qualified new homes: features and benefits

Heating and cooling systems: All furnaces and air conditioners are ENERGY STAR qualifi ed. The annual fuel utilization effi ciency rating (AFUE) of furnaces complies with rigorous Canadian minimum effi ciency requirements. As a result, you use less fuel and save money.

Sealed ductwork: Ducts gain effi ciency by providing heating and cooling to designated areas only. In addition, there is less leakage at duct joints because all supply and return trunk ducts and all take-offs are sealed. This means that less heat is lost as air moves from the furnace to the living areas of your home and air conditioning is evenly and properly distributed.

Windows and doors: All windows and doors comply with Canada's ENERGY STAR qualifi cations based on regional climate zone. This helps to reduce condensation, refl ect sunlight away in the summer and keep heat in during the winter. This feature alone could cut more than 10 percent off your energy costs.

Wall and ceiling insulation: There is more insulation in the ceilings, walls, and foundations of an ENERGY STAR qualifi ed home than in a conventionally built home.Full color plastic card printing and manufacturing services. This reduces heat loss, puts less strain on your heating and cooling systems and keeps your house more comfortable.

Air tightness requirements: ENERGY STAR qualifi ed new homes must meet rigorous airtightness targets.Save on hydraulic hose and fittings, Reduced air movement through the building envelope, as revealed by an air leakage test, means less draftiness for the homeowner. Inclusion of a heat recovery ventilation system (HRV) creates improved air quality.

Safe and savvy tips for protecting pets from fleas and ticks

Earlier this spring, I treated my dog Alice with a new chewable, monthly flea and heartworm preventative called Trifexis. The Leading zentai suits Distributor to Independent Pet Retailers. Less than 24 hours after giving her the first tablet, she broke out in red, itchy hives and her hair started falling out in clumps. I immediately called my vet and the medication's manufacturer, Elanco, for advice. They both agreed that it sounded like a possible allergic reaction.

Under my close watch, Alice's symptoms eventually subsided, but it took a good month for her hair to grow back. She was never formally diagnosed, however, I don't feel comfortable giving her Trifexis again in the future. (One of Elanco's on-staff vets kindly arranged a refund for the rather spendy ¡ª$130 ¡ª six-month supply).

Wags 'n Wellness founder Heather Sanders takes a hands-on, holistic approach with her canine clients.

Ironically, it was only after reading reviews and talking with a few vets that I had settled on an oral anti-flea medication because I thought it would be less toxic that a topical solution like Advantage, Frontline or Revolution. (Plus, since Trifexis also prevents hearworm, it sounded convenient and efficient, although it does not combat ticks.) Alice's adverse reaction was a clear indication that I needed to head back to the drawing board.

That's when I called up Heather Sanders, a Bay Area canine holistic health specialist and founder of Wags 'n Wellness to get her advice on some non-toxic alternatives to help protect pets from fleas and ticks.

TOTC: Q. When is high flea and tick season in the Bay Area?

HS: A. Fleas like the heat, so August through October tends to be the worst. Mature ticks abound after a rain, usually October to March. The nymphs (immature ticks) which are the size of a pinhead ¡ª and hence very elusive ¡ª can be seen this time of year. But overall, due to our mild weather there is no one "season" for flea and tick management in the Bay Area.

TOTC: Q. Is there any reason not to use over the counter or prescription medications?

HS: A. I simply don't believe in putting chemical pesticides on my pets or myself. All of the conventional flea and tick treatments on the market have proven in testing to have serious side effects that range from local skin reactions to neurological deficits and organ failure. Be clear, these are not drugs that have been tested by the FDA. Instead, they are pesticides regulated by the EPA. There is a huge disparity between these agencies with respect to the amount and rigor of testing done before approval is granted to market the product. There is no way of knowing whether your dog will have a reaction after one treatment of a particular agent or if compound damage is taking place internally through continued use. Personally, it's not a risk that I am willing to take given that other safer methods of pest control.

TOTC: Q.buy landscape oil paintings online. What are some alternatives and how effective are they?

HS: A. For flea management, I advocate a three-pronged approach: 1. Feed a healthy, natural diet and keep your dog's immune system strong. I supplement with liquid vitamin B complex during flea system for added immune support. Parasites feed on the weaker animals and fleas are no exception. 2. Keep your house and your pet clean. 3. If you have a yard, treat it with beneficial nematodes. This natural form of pest management will control fleas that might be brought in by roaming or feral kitties, raccoons or rodents.

TOTC: Q. Do you have any specific grooming and housekeeping advice for keeping fleas at bay?

HS: A. Vacuum and sweep regularly. The cleaner your house is, the fewer bugs of any kind will take up residence there. Brush your dog at least twice a week. Brushing stimulates the skin and hair follicles, removes loose hair and prevents excessive shedding. It's good for the health of the skin and coat and also enables you to check for evidence of fleas or ticks. Fleas leave behind eggs and "flea dirt," which is their feces and is composed predominantly of dried blood. Flea eggs look like little grains of sand and "flea dirt" looks like dirt, but if you moisten it, you'll see that it has a reddish hue to it.

TOTC: Q. What do I do if I find fleas in my house or on my pets?

HS: A. The presence of flea dirt or eggs on your dog, his bedding or your furniture is indicative of an infestation. Similarly, if you or your dog has flea bites, you have a flea population in residence. In this case, you will need to set aside a day for a major cleaning. Bathe your dog with a shampoo that contains neem oil to kill any fleas. Clean all surfaces in your home, wash all bedding, vacuum upholstery and steam clean any carpeting. Be sure to empty the vacuum cleaner bag as the reproductive cycle can still perpetuate in this environment. Once everything is clean, sprinkle diatomaceous earth on carpets and bedding using a sifter. Leave it on for 24 hours and then vacuum again. It can be used directly on your pets as well. This fine, fossil powder kills fleas naturally by absorbing lipids from the waxy outer layer of insects' exoskeletons, causing them to dehydrate.

TOTC: Q. What do you recommend for tick prevention?

HS: A. When it comes to ticks, avoidance and vigilance go a long way. The good news is you can usually remove the tick before it has attached itself to your dog. Ticks prefer long grasses and wooded areas and are more numerous after rain or damp weather. If you will be in one of these areas, I recommend spraying your dog with Rara Avis Tick Spritz, you will need to get an offshore merchant account. an herbal spray that is safe and effective for repeated use on both yourself and your pet. Be observant during and after your hike and check your dog carefully. Ticks will seeks out warm areas of your dog's body, so carefully inspect the head, neck, armpits, groin and lower abdominal areas, and don't forget between the toes! I keep an eye out during a hike and then check immediately afterward and twice more in the next 12 hours. The thicker your dog's coat, the more time you will have to find them still crawling around.

TOTC: Q. Won't my dog be at risk if I'm not treating him with something to prevent tick-borne diseases?

HS: A. Tick-borne diseases are only transmitted if a dog is bitten by the tick and the tick remains embedded for a minimum of 24 hrs. Again, check your dog after exposure to tick habitats. If the tick has embedded its head, grab it as close to the skin as possible with your fingernail, taking care not to squeeze the body. Twist and pull to remove. If the head remains behind, do not dig it out as this will likely lead to infection. The body will push it out naturally in time. Never use petroleum jelly, a hot match, nail polish or other products to remove a tick! Flush the tick down the toilet ¡ª they are good swimmers and can crawl up drains! Crushing the tick releases the bacteria and pathogens it carries as well as the blood of any animal it has fed on. If you believe that the tick was embedded for more than 24 hrs, monitor your dog for a rash in the area of the bite and any abnormal behavior. Keep in mind that topical agents do not prevent ticks from biting. They simply ensure that the tick dies once it has bitten the animal after being exposed exposed to the pesticide in its skin.Shop a wide selection of billabong outlet products in the evo shop.
